What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser, for example to remember settings or to measure visits.

Do we use them

No. The Hidedit website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising tools, social plugins or other tracking technologies. It loads no third-party scripts. As there are no optional technologies, we do not offer a choice between accepting and rejecting them; on your first visit we only show a notice about this.

Browser storage

When you close the cookie notice with "Got it", we write one entry to your browser's local storage (localStorage): the key hidedit.cookieNotice with the value acknowledged-v1. This is not a cookie.

The entry only stops the notice from appearing again on later visits, in both languages of the site. It contains no personal data, is never sent to our server and is not used for tracking.

The entry stays until you clear this website's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks storage, the notice appears on every visit. You can open the notice again at any time with the "Cookie notice" link in the footer.

Forms

The start a case form and the contact form work without cookies. What you enter is processed as described in the Privacy notice.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps access logs for the security and operation of the server. These are not cookies and are not stored in your browser.

Control in your browser

You can view or delete cookies and website data at any time in your browser settings. After deleting, the cookie notice appears again; otherwise this does not affect how the website works.

If this changes

If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting them.
